Former factory Ford LeMans driver and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Champion Billy Johnson will make his debut in the 104th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 21st.
Johnson will be piloting the BBI Autosports-built Porsche 991 GT3 "GT America" race car, which competed in IMSA in 2015 before it was converted into a BBi-engineered twin-turbo 1,000 horsepower two-time Pikes Peak class-winning monster.
The car will be campaigned in conjunction with Alegra Motorsports, a two-time 24 Hours of Daytona GT-class winning team along with Team ACP Tangerine, a winning team in multiple series that currently competes in the World Racing League.
"I am grateful for Carlos and Catesby for this opportunity and to be able to work with them as they compete themselves in the GT4" said an enthusiastic Johnson. "I also want to thank Robb Holland and everyone who helped to make this possible. This has always been on my bucket list to compete in, and to do it with such great people and in an amazing car that I have seen at the BBI shop for years, is going to make this debut even more special."
The official test weekend kicks off May 29-31st with the race week beginning June 15th through race day on June 21st.
